What is HS CODE?
HS Code stands for Harmonized System. It's an internationally standardized system of names and numbers to classify physical traded products.
HS Codes are often called Harmonized Tariff Codes, Nomenclature Codes, Customs Codes, or tariff codes.
Are HS Codes the same for all countries?
Not really. Usually, only the first 6 digits are the same across all countries, but the rest (another 2 to 5 digits) tends to be country-specific. Therefore you need to consult the customs department of the country you intend to ship your goods to.
Where can I find more info?
We suggest you google "HS CODE XXXX" where "XXXX" is the country you want to ship your goods to.

What is NCM code?
The Brazilian Customs System (NCM System) differs from the International Harmonized System (HS). In order to import products into Brazil, you must comply with its customs system by classifying your HS codes in the NCM code. NCM means “Nomenclatura Comum do Mercosul”, an 8-digit code set up by the Brazilian Government to identify the nature of the goods.
